Rafting
Rafting is probably one of the wildest activities
done at Cheerio Adventures. We use eight different rivers (New River Gorge,
Ocoee, French Broad, Nantahala, Nolichucky, Chattooga, Potomac, Gauley
and Yougheghany) in nearly as many states (NC, VA, WV, PA, TN, GA, SC).
The
classification of rapids ranges from class II-III for Samplers
to class IV for Mountains
to Sea. The number of days varies from one on trips such as
a New River Adventure
and Seekers to two or three on
the Rock Climb/Raft,
the Cave/Raft, or the Adventures Unlimited program. Participants get 5 days on the Raft Rage trip.
The ages eligible are 10 to 16. The age of
the participants and the design of the program are what determine the
river and class rapid that each group rafts. Also the class of river and
age of the participants will determine the type of raft to be used. Groups
on Class II-III at times will be able to use one or two person rafts while
groups on class IV will use larger 8-10 person rafts with professional
guides.
No matter the river or craft everyone will
be get wet and have a great time.

programs that include Rafting:
